Sexual Assault Reported on Minuteman Bike Path

The alleged assault occurred Friday afternoon.

A girl reported that a teenage male grabbed her backside Friday afternoon on the Minuteman bike path in Arlington when she bent over to tie her shoe.

She told police the male, who was about 13-15, made sexually-oriented comments about her appearance during the incident. She said she immediately told the boy to leave her alone. After, the boy allegedly said he wanted to be her friend and advanced toward her. She said she kicked him in the knee and ran off, and he did not follow.

The alleged assault occurred at about 3:30 p.m. near the bike path’s intersection with Lake Street in East Arlington. The girl said she was running westbound with a group when her allergies caused her to drop back alone. No one else witnessed the incident, she said.
