Salemwood Student Arrested for Carrying Knife on Campus

Police said no students were in danger during the incident, which occurred Friday morning.

A Salemwood School student was arrested Friday after school officials discovered he had carried a knife onto school campus.

The child, a minor, will not have his identity released to the public.

Lt. Det. Marc Gatcomb of the Malden Police Department said there were "no students in danger by any means, and no talks of lockdown."

This is the second child discovered bringing a knife onto campus in a month - in December, a similar incident was reported in Linden School.

My son Karl has 3 School's of Rock in North Carolina. Keeping kids straight and teaching them self esteem. You Tube SteetwiseMusic Indian Trail NC and you'll seee how well they preform. In my day we had Orchestra's as well as Marching bands. We could rent an instrument for short money. None of these kids now the baby boomers would even think of doing anything horriffic. Music is great for kids and the schools should be giving more music education.
