A woman called police at about 11:40 a.m. Saturday to report an alleged road-rage incident in East Arlington.
The woman said she was boxed in by a man bringing in bread to a local eatery (the eatery was not named in the police report). She said she asked the man to move his car so she could leave but he refused. She said he eventually did and she left, but she then noticed that he was following her.
She said she turned right onto Teel Street and pulled into a driveway. She said, at this point, the man got out of his car, kicked the back of her vehicle and then tried to punch her. She said the man also flipped her off and swore at her.
She said she stayed locked in her car and called police.
The man told police a very different story.
He said the woman immediately began shouting at him outside the eatery. He said he told the woman that she had enough room, and the woman then flipped him off and cursed at him.
She also spit on him when she got into her vehicle, he said.
When the woman pulled out, she struck his vehicle and kept driving, he said. He said he followed her to get her registration information.
He admitted that he might have kicked her car.
A waitress at the eatery confirmed his story.
