Police Respond to Middle School Fight at Ottoson

Police Respond to Middle School Fight at Ottoson

An Ottoson Middle School student allegedly started punching another student in the head Wednesday morning on the way into school.

The student who threw the punches told police that the other student had been “aggravating him/her for quite some time and he/she couldn’t take it anymore and decided to punch [the other student] in the head,” according to the police report.

The student who threw the punches allegedly came up from behind the other student.

The incident was referred to another officer after police spoke with both students at the school.

B&E at Ryder Street Business

Police were called to a Ryder Street business at about 6:44 a.m. Wednesday to investigate a breaking and entering that had occurred overnight.

An employee told police that someone had gained entry into the building but that he wasn’t sure yet if anything had been taken.

Smoldering Charcoal in Brush

Police and fire crews responded to Fairmont Street at about 9:21 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an outside fire. It turned out to be charcoal smoking in some brush at the end of Fairmont Street, according to police. The charcoal was put out with a fire extinguisher, police said.

Failed Entry at Brattle Street Home

A Brattle Street resident called police at about 9:44 p.m. Monday after she noticed that the locks on one of her home’s exterior doors had been tampered with. Police believe that whoever damaged the locks was unable to gain entry into the home.
