Police: Motorcyclist Goes 80 MPH on Broadway, Hits Car

The crash occurred at about noon Friday.

A motorcyclist sped down Broadway at roughly 80 mph at about noon Friday and then hit a car, which was pulling out of Tufts Street, according to police.

The motorcyclist, who was traveling east, toward Somerville, told police that the car pulled out in front of him. The driver of the car said she just eased out to look for traffic.

Witnesses pegged the motorcyclist at close to 80 mph, police said. The speed limit on Broadway is 30 mph.

Police cited the motorcyclist for operating to endanger and speeding. Both the motorcycle and car had to be towed from the scene, according to police.

No injuries were detailed in the police report.
