Police Log: Teens Caught Drinking at Veterans' Memorial Rink Park and a Hit-and-Run Accident

Teens Caught Drinking

About 7:17 p.m. on Thursday, received a report of two teens drinking near .

They told police they were "just hanging out," according to the police report. When asked by an officer if they had been drinking, they stated "no" repeatedly. If asked if police could look in their backpacks, both teens said they "felt uncomfortable with that," according to the report.

They eventually admitted to having alcohol in their backpacks and to being 17 years old. The teens' parents were contacted.

Hit and Run

About 1:38 p.m. on Thursday, an officer was called to the scene of a hit-and-run accident on Mill Street. The officer spoke to the victim, who said he was shopping at the hardware store and, when he returned, found out his car had been struck. The officer noticed the car had a large dent just behind and on top of the front drivers side wheel well.
