Somerville Man Arrested for DUI

After allegedly blowing through the six-way intersection on Lowell Street in Arlington Heights early Sunday morning, a 35-year-old Somerville man was pulled over and eventually arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol, first offense, after failing field sobriety tests, according to police.

Jason Coke was arrested at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, police said. He refused a breathalyzer at the station, according to police, and was also cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Boy Found to Have Marijuana in Woods Behind Bruce’s Tire Service

At about 4:08 p.m. Sunday, two boys, who told police that they were “just throwing rocks into the stream” in the small wooded area behind on Dudley Street, were questioned by police, and one of the boys was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to police. The boy who had the marijuana on him was going to be sent a citation for possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana, police said.

Group Loitering Behind Veterans’ Memorial Rink Sent Home

At about 11 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the Minuteman Bikeway for a report of a group of youths loitering behind . Police confiscated three cans of spray paint from the youths and send them home.

Attempted Break-in Reported at Francesca’s Kitchen

Police were called to on Massachusetts Avenue at about 12:07 p.m. Saturday for a report of an attempted break-in.

The East Arlington restaurant’s owner told police that a back-door lock had been damaged the previous night. He did not believe that entry had been gained.

Too Much Captain Morgan’s Sends Two Teens to Winchester Hospital

After nearly splitting a bottle of Captain Morgan’s rum Friday evening, two teenage males had to be transported from a bench near the Medford Boat Club on Mystic Lake to Winchester Hospital, while a third was taken home, according to police.

The third, who admitted to having one drink, called his mother and then police at about 7:42 p.m. after both of his friends became visibly ill, one had vomited and was going in and out of consciousness, police said.

Complaints are being sought against all three teens, according to police.
