Police Log: Juveniles Arrested in Playground Brawl with Wrench

The following incidents were documented in the Arlington Police Department logs.

Juveniles Arrested in Playground Brawl

At 4:17 p.m. on Sunday, two juveniles were arrested at  next door to  on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The victim said he was playing basketball when two suspects came up and accused him of stealing a bicycle, according to the police report. He told the two juveniles punched him several times in the face until he fell to the ground.

While on the ground, the victim was kicked and punched repeatedly, he told police.

Police later found the suspects, both Arlington residents, but they denied using any weapons.

A witness said she saw the juveniles use a wrench to beat up the victim. Police found the wrench in the playground and bagged it as evidence, according to the report.

It is unclear if the victim was a juvenile.

Cyclist Pushed Off, Punched in Bushes

At 7:56 a.m. on Saturday, a bicyclist told police he was pushed off his bike and punched in the face near Alton and Warren streets on Friday evening, Feb. 24.

The victim said he was on his way to basketball practice at Fidelity House, 25 Medford St., when someone pushed him off his bicycle and into some tall bushes. As he fell, the suspect grabbed him by his collar and punched him right below the left eye, according to the police report.

The victim called his mother and she came to pick him up. Police were unable to find the suspect at the time.

Car Broken Into Overnight

At 4:22 p.m. on Saturday, Arlington Police were called to investigate an overnight break-in of a car. The victim said her car was locked and someone broke into it while it was parked overnight at the parking lot.

The victim said her emergency break was damaged and the passenger side mirror was broken.

More Arrests

At 1:37 p.m. on Friday, Steven M. O’Brien, 22, of Arlington, was arrested on charges of trespassing, larceny of more than $250 and a felony break-in during daytime.

At 10:01 p.m. on Friday, Sarah Delbalso, 34, of Arlington, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery.
