Arlington Woman Arrested for DUI After Hit-and-Run Crash
A 23-year-old Arlington woman was arrested early Friday morning after she allegedly crashed her Jeep Commander into a parked car on Gray Street while driving drunk and then fled in the heavily-damaged SUV, according to police.
Rachel White was charged with DUI, first offense, and leaving the scene of property damage, police said.
At about 12:55 a.m. Friday, police responded to Gray Street, near its intersection with Lockeland Avenue. There, officers found a Mazda3 hatchback with heavy damage to its rear bumper and shattered rear and back-left windows in a residence’s front yard, according to police.
Officers also found a detached black bumper with a license plate linking it to White’s Jeep, which was not on scene.
Soon after, officers located White, parked in her heavily-damaged Jeep in an alley off of Appleton Street, about a mile away from the crash site.
After interviewing White and administering field sobriety tests, police arrested her for DUI.
She was not injured in the crash.
