Mystic Street Man Helps Police Nab Alleged Bike Thieves

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Mystic Street man was sitting at home at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday when he heard noises coming from his enclosed porch. When he went to investigate, he spotted one man attempting to steal his mountain bike and another with his girlfriend’s bike outside, he told police.

The two men then fled, one on foot because the mountain bike didn’t have a change on it and the other on the girlfriend’s bike. The resident called police and then followed the men in his car down Mystic Street, toward Winchester.

After a search, police were able to apprehend the suspects, who the resident positively identified.
