Man Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Break Into Multiple Arizona Terrace Apartments

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 32-year-old Somerville man was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly attempting to break into multiple Arizona Terrace apartments in East Arlington.

Arlington police received a call from an Arizona Terrace woman at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday that a man had just tried to open her apartment door. She said she asked the man what he was doing, and he soon left, only to try another apartment and have a similar conversation.

Another Arizona Terrace woman told police that the suspect entered her apartment through an unlocked door but then fled the area after seeing her.

Police located Marc D. Steinhagen, of Curtis Street, Somerville, on the nearby Alewife Brook Greenway.

Steinhagen denied having any involvement in the incident but was identified by one of the witnesses, police said.

He was charged with felony breaking and entering during the day with person in fear and attempt to commit a crime.
