A 32-year-old Somerville man was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly attempting to break into multiple Arizona Terrace apartments in East Arlington.

Arlington police received a call from an Arizona Terrace woman at about 6:45 p.m. Sunday that a man had just tried to open her apartment door. She said she asked the man what he was doing, and he soon left, only to try another apartment and have a similar conversation.

Another Arizona Terrace woman told police that the suspect entered her apartment through an unlocked door but then fled the area after seeing her.

Police located Marc D. Steinhagen, of Curtis Street, Somerville, on the nearby Alewife Brook Greenway.

Steinhagen denied having any involvement in the incident but was identified by one of the witnesses, police said.

He was charged with felony breaking and entering during the day with person in fear and attempt to commit a crime.

We need to issue more gun permits I guess time to thin the herds ya I know two wrongs don't make a right . Unless it's your house or your family. Average response to 911 call 10-15 min, average response from .45 less than a second, so whin if you must but if it's my family or some scumbag an their numbers are rising faster than fuel prices guess who's waking up an having breakfast the next morning sure you can call the police I'm sure these scumbags will listen to reason an the courts will do what right??? When police located him on the bike path, was he on foot or on a bicycle?
