Man Allegedly Urinates on, Defaces Arlington Center’s Veterans Memorial

A 59-year-old Cambridge man allegedly exposed himself in Arlington Center Monday afternoon and walked over to the Veterans Memorial near the Central Fire House and peed on it.

Edwin Argueta, of Florence Avenue, Cambridge, then began pulling apart the American flags at the memorial and putting them in his pockets, according to police.

He was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. and charged with open and gross lewdness and malicious destruction of property under $250.

Argueta also had a 40-ounce King Cobra alcoholic beverage, police said.

Two Arlington Department of Public Works employees witnessed the incident and called police, according to the report.
