A male crossing Park Avenue in the crosswalk at Oakland Avenue Monday evening was struck by a vehicle.
The male, whose age was not given in the police report, told police he did not remember being hit. However, the driver and witnesses said the male struck the vehicle’s hood, smashed its windshield and then flew up into the air.
The male was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston with leg and neck pain. The crash took place at about 6:45 p.m.
The driver told police that he was traveling toward Mass. Ave. on Park Avenue at about 30 mph when the crash occurred. He said he did not see the male until it was too late.
Another driver told police the male was “barely visible.”
The driver involved in the crash was cited for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
