Malden Man, Others Arrested Stealing Apples

It's the second time in a week that police have apprehended apple thieves in Londonderry, NH.

Five Massachusetts residents were charged with theft after attempting to steal apples from an orchard at Mack's Apples in Londonderry, NH this week.

Li Zhu, 54, of 19 Porter St. in Malden, Joanne Liu, 42, of 912 Jetter Court in Brighton, Xiao Fang Guan, 54, of 411 Newport Avenue in Quincy, Yan Fen Yang, 57, of 1305 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston and Zuo Zhu Xue, 41, of 196A Shore Drive in Quincy were charged with theft after a caller reported seeing them stealing apples from an orchard on Ash Street around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Bail was set at $1,500 personal recognizance and they are all scheduled to appear in Derry District Court on Nov. 5.

Last week, four people from Quincy, Mass. were arrested on similar charges after attempting to load up their car with apples at Mack's.

Earlier this year, Mack's decided to boost security after seeing more people buying some apples and then stealing others that they never paid for.

I love your comment. One bad apple in the farm doesn't mean all apples in that farm are bad.
