Arlington police received 80 firearms, including two assault rifles, at its first buyback event Saturday, Sept. 28, according to a Tuesday release from the department.
The event gave residents the opportunity to turn in unwanted or unused firearms and ammunition.
It was spearheaded by several local organizations, including Park Ave. Congregational Church UCC, Calvary Church United Methodist, Trinity Baptist Church and First Parish Unitarian Universalist, as well as the Arlington Police Department and Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.
