‘T-Bone’ Crash at Franklin and Warren

Police responded to the intersection of Franklin and Warren streets at about 6:21 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a “T-bone” crash with injury.

After a preliminary investigation, police believed that a man in a Nissan was crossing over Warren toward Mass. Ave. on Franklin, when a woman driving toward Broadway on Warren struck him.

The man complained of some slight side pain at the scene but refused medical attention, according to police. His passenger side airbags deployed during the crash.

The woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford with pain in her stomach and legs, police said. Her female passenger told police that she was not injured.

The man told police that he had stopped at the stop sign on Franklin, looked both ways and then proceeded. He said he did not see the woman’s Toyota coming because she was driving without her headlights on.

The woman told police that she did not see the man’s Nissan until it was too late.
