Head-On Collision on Bike Path Sends Two to Hospital

A cyclist heading toward Arlington Heights on the bike path struck another cyclist head on near Summer Street Field Friday evening when he tried to pass people on the left.

The crash occurred at about 5:10 p.m. After the two male cyclists collided, a third cyclist, a female, ran into them and also fell, according to police.

The male cyclist who was hit by the passing cyclist and the female cyclist were transported to the hospital. The male had neck and shoulder pain, police said.
