Head-On Collision on Mystic Valley Parkway Injures Two

The crash occurred at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Two people were injured at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday when a 2005 Jaguar X-Type and 2001 Dodge Stratus collided head-on on Mystic Valley Parkway, at Hayes Street.

Patricia Randall, 64, of Arlington, who was driving the Jaguar, and 19-year-old Jose Santos, of Boston, the Dodge’s driver, were both taken by ambulance to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to Trooper Kenneth Gaetz, a State Police spokesman.

Randall was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Santos to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, he said.

The cause of the head-on crash, on the stretch of Mystic Valley Parkway along Lower Mystic Lake, was still under investigation late Tuesday afternoon, Gaetz said. Arlington emergency personnel also responded to the scene.
