Former Arlington High Cheerleader Killed in Back Bay Crash

Jessica Campbell, 27, and her boyfriend were walking at Beacon and Fairfield streets in Boston on Saturday night when they were struck by a vehicle.

Jessica Campbell, an Arlington native and former Arlington High cheerleader, and her boyfriend were killed Saturday night when they were walking in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood and were struck by a vehicle after it collided with another.

Campbell, 27, and her boyfriend, John “Jack” Lanzilloti, 28, a productions and operations manager for the Boston Red Sox, according to the Boston Globe, were walking at Beacon and Fairfield streets at the time of the crash. Two vehicles collided at that intersection, rolled over and hit the couple, according to police.

Lanzilloti was pronounced dead at the scene, Campbell later at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. The couple lived together in Brookline. Campbell worked for Kantar Retail and was a 2010 Northeastern University graduate.

According to the Boston Herald, one of the drivers, 26-year-old Ghuzlan Alghazali, of Allston, has been charged with two counts of motor vehicle homicide, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. (Update: Authorities dropped the charges against Alghazali Monday. However, new charges could be brought as the investigation continues, authorities said.)
