Fight in Arlington Center Tuesday Night

The fight broke out at about 10:45 p.m.

Two males fought in the Medford Street crosswalk at Mass. Ave. in Arlington Center on Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene at about 10:45 p.m. and found the two males, out of breath with minor injuries to their faces and hands.

One of the males (the victim) told police that he was walking in front of the Chilly Cow when the other male (the suspect) said, “I know you. I don’t like you.” The victim said he continued to walk but the suspect pursued him and then punched him, starting the fight.

The victim said he had never seen and does not know the suspect. He said he was just trying to defend himself.

The suspect, who was intoxicated, according to police, said the victim had been threatening his family – however, he did not know the victim’s name and appeared to be confused, police said. He admitted to throwing the first punch, according to police.

Police told the males that they could file charges against each other at Cambridge District Court. Both males stated that they did not wish to press charges, police said.
