A 24-year-old Arlington man who allegedly crashed his motorcycle near the intersection of Chestnut and Medford streets early Thursday morning while drunk signed his name, “Jerry Sandusky,” below his fingerprints at the police station.
Police initially couldn’t make out the signature until he told them, “You like how I signed Jerry Sandusky?” while laughing.
Sandusky is the former Penn. State assistant football coach convicted of numerous child molestation charges.
John A. Carvalho, of Crosby Street, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, and charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a motorcycle equipment violation.
Carvalho wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and he was too drunk to stand after the crash, police said.
He told police that he was riding his motorcycle, a 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1, when it slipped on some sand in the road.
