Drunken Driving Suspect Allegedly Draws Attention to Himself

A Lexington man who was allegedly driving drunk on Summer Street Friday night was speeding while continuously sounding his horn, according to police.

An Arlington police officer spotted his car and followed him. The man then ran a red light, taking a left onto Forest Street without signaling, and crossed over the centerline on Bow Street, according to the officer. He was pulled over on Bow Street. The officer said he appeared to be visibly drunk and was unable to complete a field sobriety test.

Gualberto Valladares-River, of Sylvia Street, was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, and charged with operating under the influence (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, a red-light violation, a marked-lanes violaton, failure to signal, a motor-vehicle horn violation, furnishing a false name, possession of a false motor-vehicle document and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense). He also had warrants out for his arrest.
