Dad Chases Suspect After Daughter Allegedly Finds Him Sleeping in Their Car

The suspect allegedly told police "an angel" told him to sleep in the car.

A father and daughter were getting into their car to go to school Friday morning on Arlmont Street in Arlington when the daughter allegedly spotted a man sleeping in the backseat and screamed.

The suspect jumped up and ran away, they told police. The father called police and chased the suspect a couple blocks to a Newport Street driveway until police arrived.

The suspect, Michael J. Olson, 24, of Somerville, initially denied any wrongdoing, according to police, and then said, “You want to know the truth? An angel told me to sleep in the car last night and I did.”
