Cornell Street Man Charged with Assault and Battery
Alexander G. Lavanovich, a 22-year-old Cornell Street man, was arrested Friday night and charged with assault and battery.
Lavanovich allegedly called police to Cornell Street at about 10:55 p.m. Friday because he was trying to stop a woman from driving drunk and did not want the altercation to turn physical. After police cleared, they were called back five minutes later by the woman, who said that Lavanovich pushed her a few times to keep her from leaving a room.

Medford Teen Arrested on Warrant
Joseph W. Meserve, 18, of Fellsway, Medford, was arrested Sunday evening on a warrant out of Somerville for underage possession of alcohol.

Police allegedly found Meserve and two friends with marijuana near Whittemore Street and the Minuteman bike path, close to Spy Pond Field. One of the friends received a citation for possession of marijuana as well.
