Chelsea Man Charged with Assault to Murder After Lowell Street Incident

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Chelsea man allegedly choked a woman in a Lowell Street residence multiple times during an argument Saturday morning.

George Castro, 35, of Washington Street, Chelsea, then threw a brick at the woman’s car windshield as he fled, according to police.

Castro was charged with assault to murder, assault and battery, malicious destruction of property over $250 and intimidating a witness, police said. He was arrested later that morning in Randolph.

Castro allegedly showed up at the residence drunk at about 5 a.m. and passed out on the kitchen floor. He and the woman began arguing at about 8:15 a.m. after he had vomited on the kitchen floor and received two texts from another woman, according to police.

The assault ended when another man woke up and entered the room, police said. However, Castro later called the woman and threatened her, police said.
