Car Strikes Bicyclist Near St. Agnes

The crash occurred at about 7:18 p.m. Wednesday.

A car struck a bicyclist on Chestnut Street, near St. Agnes Church, at about 7:18 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

The driver told police that he did not see the bicyclist until after he hit him. He said he was positive the bicyclist was not in the crosswalk at Medford Street and that his driver’s side mirror must’ve struck the bicyclist, as the mirror was damaged.

The bicyclist was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge with an injured hip. He later told police he was in the crosswalk.
