Bus Argument Turns Into Mass. Ave. Assault

The assault occurred Saturday morning.

Police were called to a Mass. Ave. bus station at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday after a man witnessed an assault.

The man told police at the scene that another man, who was now on a nearby lawn, had just been beaten. The victim was unsteady at the scene and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The victim told police that he had “exchanged words” with his male attacker on a westbound MBTA bus. When they got off the bus, the victim said the man punched him several times.

According to police, the victim was trying to leave the scene and did not want to press any charges. He refused medical attention but accepted a ride home from police.

Police were unable to locate the suspect based on the witness’ description.
