Bus Argument Turns Into Mass. Ave. Assault

The assault occurred Saturday morning.

Police were called to a Mass. Ave. bus station at about 11:50 a.m. Saturday after a man witnessed an assault.

The man told police at the scene that another man, who was now on a nearby lawn, had just been beaten. The victim was unsteady at the scene and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The victim told police that he had “exchanged words” with his male attacker on a westbound MBTA bus. When they got off the bus, the victim said the man punched him several times.

According to police, the victim was trying to leave the scene and did not want to press any charges. He refused medical attention but accepted a ride home from police.

Police were unable to locate the suspect based on the witness’ description.

Drunk and belligerent at 11:30am. Is it any wonder why people are apprehensive about taking the T ?

All of you just lived up to Mark's original remark. haha. It's a good thing none of you are on the same bus!

I have to agree with you John--who cares about an old drunk..and yes Zoltan, the belligerent drunks are the reason why people don't want to ride the T late at night. I should know because I used to work 3-11 and would have to put up with them all the time while the bus drivers were too afraid to say anything.
