Boston Man Arrested on Warrants

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wayne S. Gilchrist, 59, of West Newton Street, Boston, was arrested early New Year’s Day morning on Brattle Street on two warrants.

Gilchrist’s warrants were for the following chargers: assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a  dangerous weapon, larceny over $250, disorderly conduct and trespassing, according to police. Gilchrist was also ticketed for possession of marijuana, police said.

An officer stopped Gilchrist after he was acting suspiciously on Mass. Ave.

Gilchrist appeared to have a seizure en route to the police station and was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, according to police. At the hospital, he allegedly became unruly and was pepper sprayed after attempting to throw soiled sheets at emergency personnel, police said.
