The Arlington Police Department recently hired a new animal control officer.
Amanda Kennedy got the nod, Police Chief Frederick Ryan announced Thursday.
“We look forward to enhancing the level of services we will provide the community while promoting healthy relationships people have with animals, both domestic and wild,” he said in a statement.
Kennedy previously worked with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ Field Investigations and Response Team. She has also been deployed nationally for large-scale animal law enforcement cases and disaster response.
She worked at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as well, as the director of the Boston Animal Car and Adoption Center.
Kennedy will have a table at this year’s Town Day on Saturday, Sept. 21.You can contact Animal Control at 781-316-3950 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
