Emergency responders were unable to revive the man, whom a jogger found slumped over a guard rail along the bikeway in the area of Wiggins Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. on June 23, according to Bedford Police Sgt. Paul Saunders.

The man, whose name was withheld Sunday night, was apparently bicycling alone, Saunders said, and may have been down for a while before being discovered.

According to Saunders, the man was slumped over a guardrail and down an embankment in an area past a bridge on the bikeway, near Wiggins Avenue and the Lexington line.
