Newsworthy Little Black Cat, Lilyxxx

I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly  thank The Arlington Patch for posting the notice of our little black cat, Lily, being killed by a driver on Ridge St. last Sunday morning.  When she did not come home by Sunday afternoon, we knew that something had happened.  We combed the woods near our house to see if one of the animals, of which we are always warned, had hurt her. Or, could she have gotten into someone's garage?

Monday morning, we left a descriptive message with the Arlington Animal Control person.  We never received a reply.  We left another message on Tuesday morning.  Right after this second message, we saw the notice on The Patch about a black cat being killed on Ridge St.  We are heartbroken at the loss of our little Lily who we had and loved for 10 years. At least we now knew what happened to her, thanks to The Patch.  We do not understand why we were not notified by the ACO with regard to our telephone message, and as Lily had a computer chip in her neck. Does the ACO not have a wand for these chips or, because Lily didn't wear a collar, was she just considered a stray?

I also thank my wonderful neighbors of 45 years for their concern and support for the help of The Patch.
We appreciate all of the news affecting "anyone" in  our community.
