Community Corner

Intersection of Lake Street and the Bike Path

I'm curious if there is any discussion on improving the traffic flow around the intersection of where the bike path and Lake Street meet.  It's a REALLY dangerous spot -- bicyclists don't always look while crossing the street and it's difficult to see around the trees as a motorist.  Consequently, cars are often stopping there even if there isn't anyone on the path because they're afraid of hitting someone.  Alternatively, when I am a pedestrian on the path, I've seen cars blow right past me.

I think there needs to be some sort of pedestrian light there for bike path users.  Wondering if anyone has thoughts on this?  Is it a completely crazy idea?  I'd love to hear what the community thinks.
