Why is the illegal parking that occurs daily at the corner of Rawson Rd. and Broadway in East Arlington not addressed? I pass this intersection several times a day and see one, two, and sometime three cars which all manage to squeeze past the "No Parking Here to Corner" signs. This creates a very unsafe situation by blocking sightlines down Broadway, so cars and bicyclists need to creep well out onto Broadway in order to see if it's clear to cross. The two mailboxes in front of the yoga studio also block the view of the westbound lane, which doesn't help.
Last year my parents, in my car, had to creep out onto Broadway past these driving obstacles and unfortunately were struck by a minivan. My car was totaled and the folks spent 4 days in the hospital. I have almost given up taking photos of the cars obstructing this intersection, as it's just too depressing to see it on a daily basis. And yes, they've all "just stopped into JR's." All the more ridiculous that they have to park on the corners, as there is almost always tons of parking on Rawson Rd. as well as Broadway. But why walk 1/2 a block when for years you've just been able to park wherever you want, right?
