Citizens Open Form! Selectmen, No Comment.

Richard Langone,  Town Meeting Member. On August 19th at Citizens Open Form , I read this to the selectmen and they didn't address it. They can't defend what they did so. No Comment  is what I got, they hope it just goes away!

Starting in March of last year, Selectmen Diane Mahon and Kevin Greeley, in a series of secret meetings of the Parking Subcommittee, directed police to harass residents of Swan place by ticketing their vehicles that had been granted resident permit parking permits.  During April and May more than 35 tickets were issued.  

When one resident wrote in late May complaining of this unjustified ticketing, town officials used his complaint as the excuse to remove the resident permit parking that Swan Place residents had been granted for decades.  Again, this decision was made by Mr. Greeley and Mrs. Mahon in secret meetings that violated the Open Meeting Law as recently determined by the Attorney General.  

In May and June dozens more tickets were issued and Swan Place residents lost their permit parking that they had paid for.  In an open meeting in December, Mr. Greeley as chair of this board, turned off the cameras and stormed out of this room when confronted by these facts.

We all now know the facts.  Illegal meetings, using the police to harass residents and implement an unstated policy, an illegal taking of permits that residents of Swan Place had paid for and a cowardly retreat when confronted with the uncomfortable truth.  You all should be ashamed.
