Obituary: Ruth Anne Russo, Operating Room Nurse at Former Symmes Hospital

Ruth Anne Russo, of Medford, died Saturday, April 12.

Beloved wife of the late Stephen C. Russo. Loving companion of Ralph Rubenstein. Loving mother of Stephen and his wife Patricia Russo of New Hampshire, Charles Russo of Newburyport and his former wife Maryellen Russo of Wakefield, James and his wife Deborah Russo of Danvers and Patricia and her husband John Gibbs of Wilmington. Devoted sister of Robert Gedies of Arlington and the late Richard Gedies. Cherished Grandmother of six granddaughters. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a graduate of Arlington High School and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1958. She worked for many years as an operating room nurse at Symmes Hospital in Arlington. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends invited funeral from the Gaffey Funeral Home, 43 High St., Medford Square, Medford, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass of Christian burial held in Saint Raphael's Church, Medford, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
