Obituary: Margaret Prendergast, Former Arlington Resident

Margaret M. (Blacker) Prendergast, of Manchester, N.H., formerly of Arlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013.

Beloved wife of the late James L. Prendergast. Loving mother of James T. Prendergast and his wife Josephine of York Beach, Maine, Kathleen D. Harris and her husband Robert of Belmont, the late Richard D. Prendergast and his surviving wife Patricia of Nashua, N.H., Robert V. Prendergast and his wife Irene of Nashua, N.H., JoAnne M. DeMarco and her husband John of Mansfield and Eileen D. Curtis and her husband Charles of Pelham, N.H. Sister of William Blacker of York Beach, Maine, Kathleen Thompson of Manchester, N.H., Walter Blacker of Manchester, N.H., Robert Blacker of Haverhill, Donald Blacker of Kittery, Maine, and the late Richard Blacker, John Blacker, Barbara Wilkinson and Paul Blacker. Peggy is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by 1 grandson.

Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 9 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Agnes Church, Arlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215, or to the Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
