Obituary: Josephine M. Beninati, Active Arlington Community Member

Beninati died Sunday, March 23.

Josephine M. (D'Ambrosio) Beninati, 96, of Arlington, passed peacefully on Sunday, March 23, while visiting her daughter in Grover Beach, Calif.

She was a devout Catholic who was extremely active in the church, the Hardy School PTA, the Arlington Senior Center and the Arlington election polls. Being as outgoing as she was, she was also on the JFK Memorial Library Committee and was proud to be deeply involved with the Arlington Catholic Women's Club for more than 50 years. Josephine pulled herself out of depression times and landed a job with the Dept. of Corporations & Taxation from which she retired with over 25 years of service.

Josephine is survived by her three remaining daughters: Gay-Ann Cooney of New Hampshire, Marie Smith of Burlington and JoAnn Greene of California. Also her remaining brother Joseph D'Ambrosio of Florida. She has accumulated nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Beninati, daughter Virginia Tocio, sister Marie Prato and brother Domenic D'Ambrosio.

Funeral from the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., ARLINGTON, on Friday April 4, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 9 a.m. in St. Camillus Church.
