Obituary: Joan M. Walsh-Vuorenmaa

Joan M. Walsh-Vuorenmaa, a retired Arlington and Lexington school teacher, died Sunday, Aug. 12, after a long, valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Beloved wife of Heikki Vuorenmaa. Devoted daughter of Veronica Walsh of Tewksbury and the late Hugh Dennis Walsh. Loving mother of Dennis Vuorenmaa of Arlington. Sister of Hugh Walsh of Tewksbury, Brian Walsh of Haverhill, her identical twin sister Jane Walsh Hazel and her husband Cornelius of NY, Barbara Walsh of NY, Gerald Walsh and his wife Jacqueline of NH, Kevin and his wife Linda of NY, Susan Hines of NY and the late John Walsh. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Joan was a retired Arlington and Lexington School Teacher and a member of the Walsh Sisters, a singing sister trio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the , 5 Chestnut St., (Rt.60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. A memorial mass will be held at in Arlington at a later date. Please omit flowers.
