Obituary: Edward G. Whalen, 66, Owner of Dudley Street Auto Body

Whelan died Wednesday, July 31.

Edward G. Whelan, the owner of Dudley Street Auto Body for more than 35 years, died Wednesday, July 31, surrounded by his family in York Beach, Maine. He was 66.

Whelan, of Winchester, was born June 10, 1947.

He started his first business at age 16 and continued with various successful business ventures throughout his life, including Dudley Street Auto Body, according to his obituary on obitsforlife.com.

Whelan was the devoted father of Jeanne Whalen-Clark of Woburn, Bonnie LeRoux and her husband Brian of Burlington, Charlene Hasan and her husband Eric of Chelmsford, Andrea Sanossian and her husband Craig of Nashua, N.H. He was grandfather to Angela, Joseph, Taylor, Cameron, Sofia, Emma, Nicholas and Justin, and great grandfather to Douglass, Mia and Johnny.

Whelan was the son of Doris (Morin) Whalen and the late William Whalen of Arlington. He was brother to Doris Hutchinson and her husband Hutchy of Arlington and the longtime companion of Sharon MacDonald.

He was laid to rest at Cambridge Cemetery Monday.
