Katherine 'Kay' Mitchell, Former Arlington Junior High Secretary, Dies at 102

Mitchell died Sunday, Jan. 19.

Katherine “Kay” (Hunter) Mitchell, 102, of Arlington and South Dennis, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Mitchell Jr. Mother of Barbara Mahoney of Lexington and her late husband Jack; Gail McCormick of Colorado and her late husband John; and Thomas J. Mitchell III and his wife Jean of Arlington. Also survived by 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

A lifelong resident of Arlington, in her early years Mrs. Mitchell was secretary to the principle of an Arlington Jr. High School, and later office manager of a local car dealer. She was an active member of the Arlington Garden Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARF) and especially the Arlington Senior Association.

Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. (Route 60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church), ARLINGTON, on Monday at 9 a.m. Funeral mass in Saint Agnes Church at 10 a.m. Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 p.m.
