Reason for Running: This year I'm running as a sighted guide for a blind runner, Mike Merino from Texas (so my name doesn't show up in the registration list). We'll meet for the first time the day before the marathon, so it should be interesting. Fifty percent of the proceeds from my new book, "Overthinking the Marathon," are going to support the Mass. Association for the Blind: http://www.y42k.com/books/overthinking_for_charity.html.

Training Tip: It's too late for any big changes this time around, but next time, if you want to run a faster marathon, run more than 26.2 before the race. For details, read this: http://y42k.wordpress.com/2012/08/16/ccm-diary-this-i-believe/.
