Three Ducklings Saved from Arlington Sewer

Resident Alfonso Velasquez tipped off the proper authorities, who were able to rescue the ducklings.

A real-life Mrs. Mallard and her nine ducklings (one more than the famous “Make Way for Ducklings” statue in Boston Public Garden) were strolling up Sunset Road in Arlington at about 8:30 a.m. this morning when three of the ducklings fell through a sewer grate near Blossom Street.

Arlington resident Alfonso Velasquez, who sent the attached photos to Arlington Patch, fortunately witnessed the incident and notified the proper authorities. Arlington Department of Public Works employees and the town’s animal control officer responded to the scene and were able to rescue the ducklings. The ducklings were reunited with their siblings and mother at a nearby pond, Boston.CBSLocal.com reports.
