Local Woman Will Be on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ This Month

Find out when Liz D’Onofrio will meet Ellen.

Liz D’Onofrio, an intern at The Children’s Room in Arlington, will be on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" later this month, as a follow up to her surprise on-air call in late November.

D’Onofrio, who lives in Brighton, said Thursday that the show will be taped Thursday, Jan. 23, and will most likely air in the following few days (we’ll post the exact date as soon as we know it).

“I don’t know what to expect,” D’Onofrio wrote to Arlington Patch, “except that the show has been fabulous and is paying for my airfare, ground transportation and hotel stay. My friend is also flying out with me and will be at the show, so I’m grateful for that. I’m very excited!!”

As you may recall, Ellen called an unsuspecting D’Onofrio on air in late November after seeing one of her Facebook posts that said: “I just answered an unknown number because I actually thought it might be Ellen DeGeneres. I never, ever want to miss that call.”

After Ellen found out that D’Onofrio interns at The Children’s Room in Arlington, which provides support for grieving children, teens and families, she invited her out to the show.

“I love you … I’m so glad I called you,” Ellen said.

After receiving the invite, D’Onofrio told Ellen, “Oh my god, this is so amazing. This is like the craziest day of my life.”

I am so happy for Liz...I was one of her high school teachers. Liz deserves this and much, much more. Ellen, love your too!!! I would challenge Ellen to question Liz how much she love all of the Harry Potter books and movies...would make a great spoof and I would love to see Liz blush on national TV!!! LOL

I read about the Children's Room a while back after I saw a previous article about Ms. D'Onofrio getting a call from Ellen. It sounds like a wonderful place for people who need to come together while they are grieving. I was impressed with what I read. Kudos to Ms. D.

Did this show ever air? I thought we would get an email with the air date.
