Dallin's 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' Gets Red Sox Treatment

Museum staff recently dressed the statue in a Red Sox jersey. All that's missing is a beard.

Cyrus Dallin's 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' statute in front of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston was recently dressed in a Red Sox jersey in honor of the team's World Series win.

The museum's costume conservator, Joel Thompson, and collections engineer, Dante Vallance, dressed the statute in an XXL jersey.

A photo of the Red Sox-clad statute posted on the museum's Facebook page has thousands of "Likes" and is now the museum's Facebook cover photo.

Dallin was a longtime Arlington resident.
