Mass. Independent Gubernatorial Candidate Evan Falchuk Fills Key Staff Positions, Opens Campaign Headquarters

BOSTON – Evan Falchuk (www.Falchuk2014.org), who in February 2013 declared his candidacy as the United Independent nominee for the Governor of Massachusetts race, today announced the addition of several staff members to his campaign headquarters, recently opened at 177 Tremont Street in Boston.

Falchuk and the United Independent movement, founded in January 2013, call for socially progressive ideas and fiscally sensible solutions for Massachusetts – a pragmatic combination Falchuk notes neither Democrats nor Republicans offer voters. The Falchuk campaign and candidate’s messages already have been earning considerable voter and press interest statewide – notable given Falchuk is running as an independent candidate in the state’s longtime two-party system.

“In the few short months since we launched the Falchuk for Governor campaign, we’ve made great strides,” said Falchuk. “We’ve already met with several thousand voters, and are focusing on what voters say are their actual priorities – a big change from the partisan sound bites we’ve all grown so accustomed to. Our volunteers and staff, combined with our innovative, common-sense ideas, set us apart from the two major parties. ”

Falchuk’s campaign manager is Jen Beltz, who most recently was VP of Public Affairs and Media Relations at Boston-based Best Doctors, Inc. Prior to Best Doctors, Beltz served as communications director and legislative assistant for two U.S. Congressmen, in state and national initiatives at AARP, in public affairs at Georgetown University Law Center, and founded her own marketing and PR firm.

Denella Clark, a senior fundraising professional who most recently served as VP of Development and External Affairs at Harvard Street Health Center, has joined the campaign as Falchuk’s finance director. In prior fundraising positions, Clark worked at numerous high-profile organizations including Boston’s Joslin Diabetes Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, The Dimock Center, and Partners HealthCare, as well as the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Falchuk has named Kyle Gill his campaign’s Field Coordinator. Prior to joining the campaign, Gill served as a business analyst with Best Doctors; he brings to the table voter outreach campaign experience in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Emily Demikat also has joined the Falchuk for Governor campaign, as the candidate’s operations coordinator. Demikat most recently worked at Technical Development Corporation and Charles Group Consulting in Boston.

“With a record 53 percent of Massachusetts voters today choosing to be ‘unenrolled’ – independents who choose not to be tied to either Democrats or Republicans – we collectively have a tremendous opportunity to move the entire political conversation from partisan sound bites to substantive, problem-solving dialogue,” Falchuk said. “By demanding more reasoned, thoughtful debate and action on our state’s many challenges – and including voters much more in the decisions that affect their daily lives – just consider how many new solutions and innovative ideas can result. Independent voices and independent thinking will make all the difference.”
