Winfred Rembert, artist and subject of the film, will be in residency at AHS in March 2014. He has crafted a technique of tooling and painting on leather where his intensely autobiographical paintings have preserved an important time in our troubled history in the segregated South.  Transforming painful memories, Rembert’s work is a celebration of beauty and meaning … a triumphant saga of race in contemporary America as well as a triumph of the human spirit. Please join us for this special screening!

Funding for this project is provided in part by The Arlington Education Foundation and The Arlington Cultural Council.
