“The Voice of Silence” Film Event

Vicken Chaldranian and best-actress award winner, Mariam Davtyan, are joined together in an extraordinary new film, “The Voice of Silence”
The film is based on a timely and true story that is both startling in
its visual presentation and emotionally rides like a rollercoaster. The
story revolves around a young woman named Jiji who has survived physical
violence and mental challenges with humor, compassion and a penetrating
wit.  “The Voice of Silence” has proven to be an audience favorite
filled with surprises and unexpected twists and turns.

“The Voice of Silence” is presented by the Armenian International
Women’s Association (AIWA), at the Arlington Regent Theatre located at 7
Medford Street, in Arlington, MA on Wednesday, August 28 at 7pm.  “The
film is a thought provoking and unique portrayal of extraordinary lives,
not only that of the director’s experience, but of the film’s heroin,
who provides us a glimpse of one woman’s experience in Armenia. AIWA is
proud to screen this important film”, said Eva Medzorian, AIWA Armenia
Liaison and one of the organization’s founders. A portion of the
proceeds from this screening will benefit The Women’s Support Center in
Yerevan.

Anahit Award from RA Union of Cinematographers; 2007 - Honorary Worker

Sofi Takhalova’s Golden Star Award (Netherlands); 2009 - European
Academy of Natural Sciences - European Academy of Natural Sciences
-”Gold Cross of Ludwig II Bavaria (Germany); 2010 Russian Academy of
Natural Sciences - Crown and Eagle Medal for his contribution to
filmmaking; 2011 - “HAYK” , “A Voice in the Wilderness” best feature
film since Armenia’s independence in 1991; 2013 - Special prize Ministry
of Culture for “The Voice of Silence”; also additional prizes and
diplomas at various international film festivals.
