Longtime syndicated columnist, NPR commentator, and bestselling author Joyce Maynard, author of the memoir At Home in the World--explores (for writers, as well as readers) the purpose and process of exploring one's story, and tells a few of her own. One of Maynard's most recent novels--Labor Day--was recently adapted for a film, directed by Jason Reitman, and starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, and was filmed in Acton, MA.

She has published two bestselling memoirs—Looking Back, and At Home in the World, which has been translated into fifteen languages. Her seven novels include the newly released After Her, as well as To Die For and Labor Day. In addition to writing, Maynard performs frequently as a storyteller with The Moth in New York City.
