Over the past 10 years, Prof. Primack and his colleagues have been using the journals of Henry David Thoreau to determine the impacts of a warming climate on the birds, butterflies and wildflowers of Concord and surrounding communities of Massachusetts. Beautifully illustrated with photos, this talk will be both enjoyable and informative and is free and open to the public.

The Friends of the Robbins Library, in collaboration with Science for the Public, is offering this lecture in memory of Andy Ananthakrishnan.  Andy was an accomplished scientist and an active Friends Board Member for several years.  He died tragically in an auto accident in June 2012.  He brought valuable skills and a delightful, caring personality to the Library community and is greatly missed.  In recognition of his contributions to the world of science, and as a memorial to this beloved member of our organization, the Friends Board has decided to fund this special science lecture.
