Community Corner

Civil Right Memoirist Robert McKersie

Robert McKersie, professor emeritus at MIT's Sloan School, will be appearing at Arlington Community Education to discuss his new book A Decisive Decade: An Insider's View of the Chicago Civil Rights Movement During the 1960s. As a white activist for black rights five decades ago, McKersie witnessed firsthand the debates, boycotts, marches and negotiations that forever changed the face of race relations in Chicago and in the United State. Join this Conversation with an eyewitness to history. Moderated by former Arlington High School principal Charles Skidmore and co-sponsored by the Arlington Human Rights Commission, Robbins Library, and the Arlington Advocate. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Admission $5. Pre-register at www.ArlingtonCommunityEd.org or call 781 316-3568. Walk-ins welcome as space permits.
